Welcome to Léo Girardi's homepage

Look at my papers in ADS (including astro-ph preprints).

Recent highlights:

  • NEW! Marigo et al. (2008) is Thomson Reuters' New Hot Paper of July 2009!
  • WFC3 is on place! Note that HST/WFC3 isochrones are also ready...
  • TRILEGAL has now a calibrated Bulge component.
  • The TLS radial velocity survey finds two more giant planets around giant stars.
  • Deep HST data suggests that the physics of crystallization is written in the white dwarfs of NGC6397.
  • Discovery of two distinct red clumps in NGC419: a rare snapshot of a cluster at the onset of degeneracy. A close look at HST/ACS images of this rich SMC cluster provides a beautiful demonstration of electron degeneracy in action, a new way of weighing the stellar core, and an absolute mark in the age scale of stellar populations.
  • Visit the The VISTA Survey of the Magellanic System (VMC), an ESO Public Survey that will deeply map these nearby galaxies in the near infrared.
  • The ACS Nearby Galaxy Survey Treasury releases data for 14 million stars in 69 galaxies, together with really cool pictures!

    Services mantained:

  • The web interface to TRILEGAL, a simulator of photometry for stellar fields in the Galaxy (and much more): http://stev.oapd.inaf.it/trilegal
  • CMD, a web interface for computing isochrones, luminosity functions, integrated SSP colours, etc: http://stev.oapd.inaf.it/cmd
  • PARAM, a web interface for the Bayesian estimation of stellar parameters: http://stev.oapd.inaf.it/param
  • The Padova database of stellar evolutionary tracks and isochrones: http://pleiadi.oapd.inaf.it
