We present results from our XMM-Newton observation of IRAS 13197-1627, a Seyfert/QSO borderline X-ray source. The source is absorbed by Compton-thin neutral matter in the hard X-rays and exhibits a strong reflection component (most likely from the accretion disc) in excellent agreement with previous BeppoSAX data. In the soft band, clear signatures of emission from ionized gas are detected, revealing the presence of both photo-ionized and collisionally-ionized gas.
