A test for the preliminary 2XMM Source Catalog: hunting for Type2-AGN

By means of the XMM-Newton Bright Serendipitous Survey results with a preliminary version of the 2XMM-Newton Source Catalog, we are investigating selection criteria, based on hardness ratios, to collect a sample of brigth absorbed AGN. We present here the optical and X-ray spectral properties of the sources spectroscopically identified so far, including 4 objects recently observed @NTT. The efficiency of our selection criteria and the strength of the forthcoming 2XMM catalog will be discussed.
