The CORALZ sample - Young radio-loud active galactic nuclei at low redshift

K.-H. Mack, I.A.G. Snellen, R.T. Schilizzi

Young radio-loud AGN form an important tool to study the onset of AGN activity and the early evolution of classical double radio galaxies. Statistically complete samples for such studies are difficult to obtain, especially at low redshifts where young sources are relatively rare. We present a new sample of COmpact RAdio sources At Low Z (CORALZ) which significantly increases the number of known nearby young radio galaxies. An overview of some of the on-going follow-up projects will be presented.
