Low power compact radio galaxies at high angular resolution

We present sub-arcsecond resolution VLA images of low power compact (LPC) radio sources, and phase referenced VLBA images of their nuclear regions. On the basis of the extended structures and nuclear properties, we rule out the presence of strong relativistic effects. Fits of continuous injection models yield ages of 10^5-10^7 yrs. We discuss youth, frustration, low kinematic power jets, and short-lived nuclear activity. The core of one source is switching off its activity.
